San Francisco is the place to go for star studded fine dining. The Californian hotspot has the most three-star Michelin restaurants of any U.S. city, surpassing New York City as the food capital of The United States.

In the Michelin ratings for 2018 San Francisco has surpassed New York City as the foodie capital of United States. San Francisco and the Bay Area are now home to seven restaurants with the three-star rating: Benu, Coi, The French Laundry, Manresa, Quince, The Restaurant at Meadowood and Saison. New York City came in second with five three-star restaurants.
In total 55 restaurants throughout San Francisco, the Bay Area and Wine Country received a Michelin star. Michelin’s also recognized 67 restaurants that earned the Bib Gourmand distinction.
