CHINCOTEAGUE HORSES AND PONIES

Hard to spell, easier to pronounce, “Chinkotig.” Here along Virginia’s sandy coastline, wild horses graze. Horses, by the way. In the neighboring state of Maryland and Assateague, “Assatig,” the same horses roam, but there they’re called ponies. Whatever. The animals don’t seem to care, grazing peacefully in the gentle sea breeze.
